Miss Shelby Newell
Teacher
Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Miss Shelby began her dance training at the age of four and has developed a strong foundation across a wide range of disciplines, including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Modern, Contemporary, and Hip Hop. She has achieved her Advanced certifications in Tap and Jazz through the ADAPT syllabus, as well as her Advanced Foundation certification through the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD). Miss Shelby holds Registered Teacher Status with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and is certified in Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT). Shelby's training also includes studies in Jazz and Contemporary at the University of Calgary, where she had the opportunity to learn from acclaimed instructors and choreographers from around the world.
Dedicated to lifelong learning and professional growth, Miss Shelby continues to further her education through specialized courses with the Royal Academy of Dance, including Dance Science, Pointe Work, and teacher development programs. She is committed to staying current with best practices in dance training and pedagogy to provide the highest quality instruction for her students.
Miss Shelby is passionate about sharing her love of dance and fostering a positive, inspiring learning environment. She strives to instill confidence, artistry, and a strong technical foundation in her students, while encouraging each dancer to reach their full potential and develop a lifelong appreciation for the art of dance.
