Miss Remy Voogt
Teacher
Remy began dancing at the age of 2, but it was in her early teens when she realized how deep her passion really ran. Remy grew up watching her mom teach acrobatics at the studios she attended, and found herself getting involved more and more. She started assisting in her mom’s classes, and then began finding herself student teaching in other genres with other teachers. This is when her love for dance became apparent.
Remy extensively trained in all areas, including jazz, lyrical, contemporary, acro, tap, ballet, hiphop, musical theatre, and pointe. Remy has finished Advanced 2 RAD ballet, trained intensely alongside Acrobatic Arts, she has assisted in the cleaning of dances for Team Canada Acro, and currently is an assistant with the Acro Dance Teachers Association.
Remy was the Vice President and head choreographer of the MRU Cubs Competition Team for 3 years. More recently, Remy is a Director with Bare Movement Co, an adult contemporary and movement company in Calgary, AB. She has danced in the past two shows, and is continuing her journey with Bare as not only a dancer and director, but a choreographer and videographer.
Additionally, Remy is a graduate from Mount Royal University with a Bachelor of Communications in Broadcast Media Studies with a minor in Marketing.
Remy has equipped herself with tools and certifications to ensure she is the best possible instructor she can be. She has the Module One Acrobatic Arts Certification, as well as a Safe Sport, High 5 Principles of Healthy Child Development, and Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders.
Remy is so passionate about dance, and cannot wait to continue teaching and sharing her passion. She is so excited to connect and inspire young minds. Nothing makes her happier than dancing! Remy is excited to be an instructor with Diversity!
