Miss Quinn Barrie
Teacher
Miss Quinn began her dance journey at five years old when she started taking highland dance classes. Looking to try something new, she enrolled in recreational ballet, jazz, and hip hop classes and became hooked. She continued to try other disciplines, including tap, acro, contemporary, lyrical, modern, pointe and musical theatre. Miss. Quinn continued performing and competing in all disciplines, excluding tap, until her graduating year. Additionally, Miss. Quinn took part in her home studio's student teacher education program for five years, allowing her to learn firsthand the importance of quality dance education. Miss. Quinn's performance as a dancer and role as a student teacher earned her many awards and scholarships, including a Student Teacher of the Year award and a Most Outstanding Dancer award.
Outside of teaching, Miss. Quinn continues to train in hip hop foundations, freestyle, and performance with The Masses YYC. Miss Quinn believes strongly in the importance of continuing to train hip hop foundations and immerse herself in hip hop culture as an instructor in an effort to provide quality dance education to her students. At the same time, she is working on her Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology at the University of Calgary.
Miss. Quinn is beyond excited to share her love and passion for dance with students at Diversity!
