Miss Kendra Hicke
Director of Operations / Teacher
Miss Kendra started her dance career at age 4 in a jellybean printed bodysuit and a fashion-forward mushroom cut when her mother enrolled her at a pre-school dance class at the studio down the street. That studio was Dance Spectrum (DSI) where she met her then teacher (and current mentor/boss/life-long friend) Miss Christina. Miss Kendra continued dancing at DSI until the age of 17. During this time she took and excelled at all the styles offered, including her favorite, Musical Theatre. She successfully completed many ADAPT Jazz Exams and Al Gilbert Tap Exams.
In her training, Miss Kendra took many opportunities to develop her skills by participating in multiple dance competitions, dance conventions and trained in DSI’s Student Teacher Program for 5 years. Among her treasured memories, her fondest include dancing in the Disneyland Parade, receiving the “Most Dedicated Dancer” scholarship at DSI, receiving many competition awards for her stage presence, and, most importantly, making lifelong dance friends that she now teaches with!
Miss Kendra’s competitive students have been recognized for their distinguished performances, and have won multiple performance-related awards. As a teacher, Miss Kendra is the recipient of several awards for her competition choreography. Her most cherished memory to date was watching her students and choreography on a Broadway stage in NYC. In the summer of 2018, she graduated from the ADAPT Syllabus Teacher Training program and looks forward to continuing her dance education any way she can.
This is Miss Kendra’s 16th year teaching and managing the office at Diversity Dance and Performing Arts as Director of Operations. She strives to provide her students with proper dance knowledge and the confidence to execute techniques in a fun and positive learning environment.
Miss Kendra hopes to inspire her students to point their toes, sing their hearts out, and never give up!
