Miss Quinn Barrie
Teacher
Miss Quinn began her dance journey at five years old when she started taking highland dance classes. Looking to try something new, she enrolled in recreational ballet, jazz, and hip hop classes and fell in love. She continued to try other disciplines, including tap, acro, contemporary, lyrical, modern, pointe and musical theatre. Miss Quinn continued performing and competing in all disciplines, excluding tap, until her graduating year. Additionally, Miss Quinn took part in her home studio's student-teacher education program for five years, allowing her to learn firsthand the importance of quality dance education. Miss Quinn's performance as a dancer and role as a student teacher earned her many awards, including the Student Teacher of the Year Award, Heart Award, and Most Outstanding Dancer award.
Outside of teaching, Miss Quinn continues to train primarily in hip hop foundations and freestyle. Miss Quinn believes strongly in the importance of continuing to train in hip hop foundations as an instructor in order to provide quality dance education to her students. At the same time, she is working on her Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology at the University of Calgary.
Miss Quinn is beyond excited to continue to share her love and passion for dance with students at Diversity.
